Here are two tunes that I’ve been working on with Kyma this term:
They are both aleatoric computer pieces… which is to say computer pieces that involve a random number generator.
But “aleatoric” sounds cooler.

So I have this idea for a piece – you can do a mini-opera about vernal pools and the salamander migration and use your raindrops and your frog piece (except you would have to change the sounds to wood frogs). I could write the libretto
Can you tell spring is coming here? While we haven’t had “Big night” yet, there have already been reports of salamanders and wood frogs on the move.
