Sospiro Concert

School of Music, Room 163
University of Oregon, Eugene, OR

“Sospiro” will have its first concert of 2009, filled with performances of new pieces written for the choir, including my piece “Touch lightly Nature’s sweet Guitar,” composed on the text of the Emily Dickinson poem of the same name.

I’ve arrived back in Eugene after my summer travels and have been working through the 300-something eMails in my inbox that need to be addressed.

I’m taking a break now to update this page because it’s been a long time since the “consonance concerts” have been “coming up.”

We’re still working on making the best possible audio files from the three concerts, but I wanted to post a few photos from the concerts in the meantime.

Enjoy!

This summer, I will be teaming up with three composers from UCSC, Daniel Brown, Young-Shin Choi, and Noah Meites, and two performers from Korea, Yusun Kim and You-Jin Chung, and putting on a series of concerts in Japan and South Korea.

Along with performances of Korean traditional music, there will be premieres of two of my pieces, “Ewha, Nabi” for stereo fixed media, soprano, and gayageum, and “five” for piri, gayageum, flugelhorn, violin, and cello.
